Partnering with Roald Dahl Nurses to Support Seriously Ill Children

The Blue Light Card Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, supporting a dedicated wellbeing programme for the charity’s specialist nursing team.

Roald Dahl Nurses provide expert care to seriously ill children across the UK, often supporting families through complex, lifelong conditions. Their role is not only clinically demanding, but emotionally intense requiring strength, compassion, and resilience every single day.

This wellbeing programme will offer peer support, structured training, group sessions, and wellbeing activities to strengthen the mental health and resilience of these incredible nurses.

Emma Woods-Bolger, CEO of the Blue Light Card Foundation, says:
“Roald Dahl Nurses deliver expert care while carrying the emotional weight of some of the most difficult moments a family can face. They stand beside children and families through pain, uncertainty, and loss. Through this initiative, we stand with them, helping to build their resilience and protect their wellbeing, so they’re never left to carry that burden alone.”

Louise Griew, CEO of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, adds:
“We are so grateful to the Blue Light Card Foundation for their generous support. Roald Dahl Nurses work tirelessly to care for seriously ill children and young people across the UK. As part of our nurse professional development and leadership programme, we provide dedicated wellbeing support to help them manage the emotional and physical demands of their roles. By partnering with the Blue Light Card Foundation, we can continue to provide vital support for Roald Dahl Nurses, so they can continue providing their expert, exceptional care to the children and families who need them most.”

This partnership reflects our shared belief that those who care for others deserve care themselves, and no one should face the weight of that responsibility alone.

We are proud to be partnering with Roald Dahl Nurses.
