In September, Rose took on an extraordinary challenge: walking 100 kilometres in just 36 hours at Par Track in Cornwall, and she absolutely smashed it, raising over £900 for the Blue Light Card Foundation in the process.
Starting at 12:37 am on Thursday, 25th September, Rose stepped out onto the track under the beam of her headtorch, joined by her trainer and a small group of friends. Par Track became her world for the next 36 hours as she completed around 250 laps of the athletics track.
Although she planned to walk much of the distance solo, Rose was never truly alone. Across both days, friends, supporters, local residents and members of her wider community joined her for laps, brought warm drinks, cheered her on from the sidelines and lifted her spirits when fatigue began to bite. That steady stream of kindness made a tough challenge feel like a shared journey.
One of the most emotional moments came at the end. For the final four laps, Rose was joined by Mel, someone who has played a huge part in her journey. Rose chose to cross the finish line with her, honouring the support, encouragement and belief that helped make this achievement possible.
On Friday, 26th September at 12:37 pm, after 36 hours on her feet, Rose completed her 100km challenge at Par Sports Track, Par, Cornwall. Tired, emotional and determined to the very last step, she demonstrated exactly what courage and resilience look like.
Thank you Rose, we are really proud to have you as part of #TeamBLCF. We can not wait to see what you do next.
